According to Technorati, there are 25.9 million blogs in the world. Also according to Technorati's ranking system, The Chronic Curmudgeon is the 98,016th most popular blog in the world.
Ten percent of 25.9 million is 2.59 million. 1% of 25.9 million is 259,000. Half of that -- 0.5% -- is 129,500. I am 98,016th. In other words, I am in the top 0.4% of the world's most popular bloggers.

Hey, Alan! Welcome back... my resident conservative has returned! Or, I guess you've been on board all along, from the tone of your comment here.
Anyway, I appreciate the kind words... my audience is quite a bit smaller now than it was before the hiatus I took last spring... but I am absolutely gratified that most of the people who are here seem to be loyal community members. I may have dropped from 5000 hits a month to maybe 1700 a month, but the community I have are familiar friends (whether they comment or not, I see who comes back regularly), and I'm grateful for every one of them. :-)
