Movin' Out
And it seems such a waste of time... If that's what it's all about... mama, If that's movin' up, then I'm movin' out. -- Billy Joel
It always arrives too fast, doesn't it? Never quite get enough packing done, never quite ready, and never completely sure that jumping your rent 50% just for the improved lifestyle/quality of home is really worth it... but ready or not, moving day is here.
I'm gonna be off line for another couple of days here; the cable/internet guy doesn't arrive at the new place until Monday evening. I'll catch up on Monday. Catch y'all from the new swingin' bachelor pad.

freaking moving. No matter what you do to prepare, moving is always one of the most stressful events in life.
Well, besides that first gyno visit - but even then I think moving is worse.

Good luck on the move, Mudge. This is your time. You deserve all the good things coming your way. Glad we are friends.

You never know just how much stuff you own, until you try to move it all.
Congrats on the new place and have fun with it. I hope you picked a place with a toilet tank outside the wall.

hope there's a door big enough for your "swelling head"... hahahhahahahahahahaa.

Am I the only one imagining Austin Powers here? Or Larry from Three's Company? Sorry, you say "swingin' bachelor pad" and those are the guys I think of.

Billy Joel sucks. A pox on your home for putting that song in my head!

How does Sal like his new home?

Beav - I'll take your word on that one.
Scott - Thank you; that's very kind to say. I am glad we're friends too... so much that I don't even mind losing $ to you every Friday night at the table!
Jose - yeah, this time the toilet tank is outside the wall. And I was amazed at how much stuff I was throwing out from a simple studio apartment!
Erika - No door is big enough to contain my swelled head.
Jill - Yeah, baby! Do I make you horny, baby? Do I?
Ethan - I didn't end up heading your direction; the extended commute and the desire to actually get something worth staying in for less than $2500 a month precluded my heading to the city. But, I'm 10 minutes away from the office now, 5 minutes away from downtown White Plains (which, while not Manhattan, is semi-happening as much as a place in WC can be and has a social scene), and still only 30 mins from Manhattan by train. So all things considered I'm happy with the move; I just wish it was over and there were no more boxes everywhere.
Sarah & MU Hoop - I never said I *liked* Billy Joel. In fact, I can't stand him. But have te Arctic Monkeys or Raconteurs done a song about moving? I had to quote *somebody.* And MU Hoop... I am personally pleased at having been able to contribute to your mental discomfort yesterday. ;-)
JBF - Sal's been with his "grandparents" since February due to my ridiculous travel schedule this spring; it wasn't fair to him to have neighbors having to watch him for two weeks of every month. I have one more extended trip coming up, and then when it's over I am finally home for 'good' and can concentrate on all things NY again... including getting my pet back. Thanks for asking.
