The Bad 80s Video War Is... OVER
Corey... you can't beat this. It's over. I win. Ladies and gentlemen... William Shatner's interpretation of "Rocket Man."
And I'm gonna be.... HIIIIIIGH as a kite by then.

Shatner's a toughie. I see I'm not the only Bill Simmons reader in the world. And this is as awful as it gets.
However, this definitely looks like a 70s production. And according to Devil Ducky it was 1978! Read it and weep.

...Bad Bad Bad Bad Mudge. Granted I got lucky with Arni and...the other one but still it was 1980.
Tis okay, Jesus forgives and so do I, no penalty, but you have to make another submission before I destroy you completely *he says in a Stewie voice*

I love Bill Simmons. He's my contemporary writing hero; someday, if I work real hard, I'll be half as good and as funny a writer as he is.
Damn. You caught me. But still... you cannot win. In the voice of the intro to Olbermann's lead-in to snarking about O'Reilly: "Victory is mine!"

Huh?
I didn't go to APCB. A friend at the office sent me the clip via Bill Simmons.

Mudge is right. As much as I like to be the wellspring of all things Shatner, my link was to an .asf page. I'm glad somebody finally got around to hosting this on YouTube.

Don't get me wrong, Pete -- I shamelessly steal inspiration from you on multiple occasions. It's just that this time wasn't one of them.

Actually, Sarah, her impression is pretty damn good. I don't like her or him, but I'll give credit where it's due: the dance moves and mannerisms, she's got them down.
